Song of the Week: Come All You Weary

This week, the Song of the Week goes to Come All You Weary by Thrice. It’s from their series of four EPs called The Alchemy Index. Thrice is somewhat unique in that they don’t claim to be a Christian band, but their lead singer’s faith comes through on a lot of their songs. This is one of those songs. And it pretty much rocks. Give it a listen.

Song of the Week: Southern Way

I thought I’d do a feature deal every week where I highlight a song that’s grabbed my attention recently. If I can, I’ll come up with a link where you can listen to it. Because that’s nifty.

This week, Southern Way by Corey Crowder takes the prize. I’m generally not a fan of Southern Folk/Rock/Whatever you’d call this, but I dig it. Enjoy!

If you’re cool, you’ll leave a comment telling me what you think of it.

Stuff on my iPod

Another product of my boredom. Here are the albums I have on my iPod. Please be nice. There’s a lot of em, and I don’t want to make the front page long, so you’ll have to click the link below to see em. I’m so demanding, aren’t I? Continue reading ‘Stuff on my iPod’

Looking Forward - The Bird and the Bee Sides

Cover ArtSo, Relient K is releasing a new EP/b-sides album called The Bird and the Bee Sides. It appears that they’re continuing their tradition of weird album names (Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek, Two Lefts Don’t Make a Right, But Three Do…, etc.)

The first 13 songs are an EP (that’s right, a 13 song EP) called The Nashville Tennis EP. It’s a collection of various songs written and sung by all the different members of the band, including their new drummer, Ethan Luck (of the Supertones and Demon Hunter fame). On a side note - Luck played guitar for his former bands, not drums. Whatever. The remaining 13 songs comprise the “Bird and the Bee Sides” part of the album and consist of old demos, b-sides, acoustic versions of songs, remastered songs, and songs off old EPs that were not nationally released. The one I’m particularly interested in is “Five Iron Frenzy is Either Dead or Dying.” I liked FIF. Sue me.
