Gary already let the cat out of the bag, so I figured I’d spill the beans here, too.

As of Sunday, August 3, 2008, at 5am, I will no longer be working here.

As of Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at an as-of-yet unspecified time, I will be working here (part time).

To say I’m excited would be the most rediculous understatement ever.

One thing I thought I’d note. Gary (the pastor-dude) has, in recent years, shifted more and more away from the “business” side of the church. Apparently he’s too busy doing that whole “pastor” deal. While discussing my future employment with my future employers, I never said one word to Gary about it, and vice versa. It’s good to know that stuff can get done around there without the pastor having to micro-manage everything. While I don’t have inner knowledge of how other churches operate, I’ve gotten the sense that that isn’t how a lot of churches work.
